Alanis Morissette Slams 'Salacious Agenda' Of Makers Of HBO Documentary

Alanis Morissette Slams 'Salacious Agenda' Of Makers Of HBO Documentary

Alanis Morissette has slammed the makers of Jagged, an upcoming HBO documentary that focuses on the singer's rise to fame and the release of her seminal album Jagged Little Pill.

In a statement, Morissette said, "I agreed to participate in a piece about the celebration of Jagged Little Pill's 25th anniversary and was interviewed during a very vulnerable time (while in the midst of my third postpartum depression during lockdown). I was lulled into a false sense of security and their salacious agenda became apparent immediately upon my seeing the first cut of the film."

"This is when I knew our visions were in fact painfully diverged. This was not the story I agreed to tell," she added. "I sit here now experiencing the full impact of having trusted someone who did not warrant being trusted."

Jagged was directed by Alison Klayman and is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

Morissette has made it clear that she will be not attending any events surrounding the release, including the premiere.

"Not unlike many 'stories' and unauthorized biographies out there over the years, this one includes implications and facts that are simply not true," the musician said.

Elton John Postpones 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' European, U.K. Tour Dates

Elton John has announced that the forthcoming 2021 European and U.K. tour dates of his farewell tour have been rescheduled for 2023.

The "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" will recommence on January 19, 2022, in New Orleans and run until the summer of 2023.

Ticketholders for the rescheduled performances will receive new event information and all original tickets will be honored at the rescheduled performances.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I am forced to reschedule the 2021 dates of my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in Europe and the UK to 2023," John said in a statement. "At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since."

"Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving. I have been advised to have an operation as soon as possible to get me back to full fitness and make sure there are no long-term complications," he added. "I will be undertaking a program of intensive physiotherapy that will ensure a full recovery and a return to full mobility without pain."

John made it clear that despite postponing his farewell tour, he will complete the charitable Global Citizen event scheduled for September 25, "as I don't want to let a charity down."

The legendary singer pointed out the difficulty of playing for close to three hours every night on tour and travelling overnight between countries.

Reimagined Version Of Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' Featured In School Gun Violence PSA

A reimagined version of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," performed by the victims of school shootings, is featured in a new PSA from the non-profit Sandy Hook Promise.

"#TheTeenageDream is not what it used to be. Watch our PSA, a new version of @KatyPerry's song 'Teenage Dream,'" the Sandy Hook Promise account tweeted and warned that the video contains sensitive content related to gun violence that can be triggering.

Katy also posted the two-and-a-half-minute PSA that shows various young people reciting and/or singing the lyrics of "Teenage Dream." That's followed by the words "The teenage dream is not what it used to be."

BBDO New York and director Henry-Alex Rubin created the PSA, which continues Sandy Hook Promise's long-running message of knowing the signs to recognize problematic behavior, mental health issues, and more that could lead a young person to commit violence.

Sandy Hook Promise is led by the family members of those killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

Halsey Explains Skipping Met Gala Shortly After Giving Birth

Halsey Explains Skipping Met Gala Shortly After Giving Birth

Halsey explained to fans on social media the reason why she skipped the "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion"-themed Met Gala on Monday.

"I'm still breast-feeding," said the 26-year-old mother, who on July 14 gave birth to Ender Ridley. The child was born in her relationship with boyfriend Alev Aydin.

"I only had my baby seven weeks ago. There's nothing more 'American fashion' than moms having to go back to work after just giving birth lol. I wouldn't have had a way to pump my breasts which would have been insanely painful. I understand I'm incredibly privileged to afford time off, but the demands are still prevalent and the biology does not excuse me," Halsey wrote on Twitter.

The Grammy nominee was responding to one of her followers' question about why she missed the star-studded event.

"My only point was people expecting me to be there so soon after having a baby and how it's reflective of a more general social expectation of new moms in far more vulnerable positions," Halsey said. "I wasn't complaining at all."

"I am so grateful. For my baby after everything I went through to get pregnant. For my undeserved comfort to spend time home. For the blessing to make art as a form of employment. But postpartum does not discriminate. That's all I meant to say," she added in a series of tweets.

Judge Cancels Rod Stewart's Trial, Schedules Hearing To Discuss Plea Deal

Judge Cancels Rod Stewart's Trial, Schedules Hearing To Discuss Plea Deal

A Florida judge has canceled the trial for rock legend Rod Stewart and his son. The judge has scheduled a hearing next month to discuss a plea deal, which could settle charges related to an alleged fight with a hotel security guard on New Year's Eve nearly two years ago.

Stewart and his son Sean, 41, were facing trial after security guard Jessie Dixon claimed that Rod punched him in the ribs during a row over access to a private party in a children's area in 2019.

A trial date had been set for Tuesday, September 14. However court records show Rod's lawyers have reached a settlement agreement and a final hearing has been scheduled for October 22.

If convicted, the Stewarts were facing a year in jail, or probation and a $1,000 fine. The terms of the agreement are not yet clear.
